Thikka Movie Review

Sai Dharam Tej, who debuted as hero from Mega family is on a successful note with his previous films Subramaniam for Sale and Supreme. He slowly started to create his own base despite coming from a biggest family with his hard work. He is now coming with Thikka, on which he has more confidence and high hopes considering it’s content. It is under the direction of Sunil Reddy, who is a debut director under the production of Rohin Reddy having Larissa Bonessi and Mannara chopra as female leads. Team is super confident on this movie which has good expectations. As it is releasing today, let’s see how it works on us.

Story:-

Adithya (Sai Dharam Tej) is a working professional who enjoys his life as any employed bachelor. On a very first sight of Anjali (Larissa Bonessi) who hits his car, he falls for her. He makes her fall for him. Irritated by his nature Anjali breaks with him and gives him a letter which Adithya don’t read. Adithya by this breakup is very upset and parties with his friends with sadness and creates huge ruckus wherever they go. Finally they go to Anjali’s marriage venue and creates problem calling Anjali out. He then receives call from Anjali asking him to come to regular place as per the plan in the letter. Why did she break with him?? What is the plan in the letter?? How he solved all the problems forms the rest of the story.

Plus Points

Sai Dharam Tej stays true to his character and does his best to save the film. The young hero performs well in all the drunken scenes and showcases good comedy timing.

Comedian Satya’s role has been written well and he too gets his act right with some good punches.

The confusion comedy showcased during the last half an hour evokes some laughs. Larissa Bonesi looks good but does not have much to do in the film. The second half is slightly better when compared to the horrible first part. Ajay and Fish Venkat are good in few scenes.

Minus Points:-

One might have easily guessed the situation from the lackluster trailers that were released initially. The writing and execution are so bad that the proceedings can give you an instant headache. The first impression that one gets while watching this film is how in the world did Sai Dharam Tej and a senior actor like Rajendra Prasad agree to such a script.

Right after the first ten minutes, everything goes wrong. Two songs come back to back and ignite the irritating in you. The story has absolutely no emotions and

whatever shown are also over the top. The film is so loud at times that you feel like walking away from the theaters at once.

The logic goes for a toss and none of the characters are in the sink. There is absolutely no chemistry between the lead pair. Mannara Chopra looks outright silly in her stupid role and is wasted completely. The entire first half of the film has no meaning and goes for a toss completely.

Technical Aspects:-

Production values of the film are okay. Music by Thaman is dreadful as none of the songs manage to register. Camera work is just about okay and so were the dialogues.

The screenplay is a huge let down as too many characters keep making an entry into the proceedings and bog down the film.

Coming to the director Sunil Reddy, he has spoiled the film to no extent with his terrible direction. He might have got the basic point of confusion comedy right on paper, but his narration and the way he has dealt with emotions leave a lot to be desired. He messes up things so badly with his writing that none of the roles or any episode of the film manage to impress you whatsoever.

Verdict:-

Overall, Thikka is one film which Sai Dharam Tej should immediately erase from his memory. He should stay away from scripts like these which can spoil his career big time. Except for his sincere performance, this film has absolutely nothing to offer in any which way possible. Stay away from this one otherwise, you can end up losing your mind.
